19th Century Framed Chinese Export Fan Applied "Thousand Faces" Fan VR49-10891

Description : Hand painted Applied faces fan. Sometimes called "Thousand Faces" made in Canton, China circa 1850. The faces are hand painted shaped pieces of applied ivory while the leaf is hand made paper. Stick and guards are finely lacquered and hand painted in gold bamboo. The fan is indeed rare.
